Bardi Designs | Luxury Residential Interior Design

I was thrilled to collaborate with Bardi Designs, a premier luxury turnkey interior design firm in the Raleigh, NC region, to photograph this beautiful residential remodel created for their clients. This was my first shoot with designer Betsy and her assistant, Marissa, and from the beginning, it felt like a natural collaboration.

Betsy wanted the photography to focus primarily on the main living spaces, where the kitchen, living room, dining room, bar, and staircase all flow together. It was important that the images communicate that sense of connection while also drawing attention to the individual design details that give the home its character—from the light fixtures and furnishings to the coffee and end tables, along with a distinctive piece of artwork featuring what I believe is a pelican, though I could be mistaken. :)

We also photographed the primary bath, the study, the staircase, and the entry, including a striking light fixture that immediately establishes the tone of the home as you walk through the door.

Over the course of roughly nine hours, we created a final collection of 17 images. Several compositions required carefully diffusing and shaping a significant amount of natural light because of its direction in relation to the camera. Those additional steps took time, but they allowed us to elevate the atmosphere of the spaces while giving the materials, furnishings, and architectural details the attention they deserved.

Most importantly, we had a wonderful time creating the work together. We were thrilled with the final collection, and I hope this is the beginning of many more collaborations with Betsy and the Bardi Designs team.
