Traveling Slowly — A Curated Collection
These photographs come from a threshold in my life. In December of 2023 I left a full-time career in the Napa Valley wine industry and drove across the country to Charlotte, North Carolina, to become an architectural photographer — a city where I knew no one, with no first client waiting. The images here were made in the months surrounding that leap: from Florence and Siena, through Napa and Yosemite, across White Sands, Taos, Marfa, and the Atchafalaya Basin, to the city I now call home.
Somewhere on that road, my way of working took shape: move slowly, stay open, pay attention — and wait for the feeling to arrive before the frame does. Each of these places carried its own rhythm and story, and honoring that is what I've aimed for in every photograph since.
Three years on, that same discipline guides my work for editorial clients and travel-industry brands. I'm available for assignments worldwide, and I collaborate closely with clients to craft images that feel both authentic and enduring.
If you're looking to create meaningful visual stories for your publication or brand, let's schedule a complimentary Zoom call — I'd love to hear about your project.
“We have engaged Paul for several shoots at Meadowood and each time he has proven to be a supreme professional talent. He is thorough, efficient, and consistently hits the brief. We are always pleased with his beautiful imagery and his ability to capture the essence of Meadowood through his photographs. ”
“Paul did a photo shoot for our newly converted hotel in Carolina Beach NC, and it turned out amazing. Paul did an amazing job throughout the entire process from the set up to the delivery of the final images. He communicated with us throughout the entire process and made any changes that we requested. He continued to work on the images until we were fully satisfied with the final result. We will be using Lange Photo Studios for any of our future photoshoots and would highly recommend them to anyone else that is planning a photoshoot.””
